The Miami Dolphins sat out this past weekend's slate of NFL games, resting during their bye week and starting to get back some major players for both the offense and defense. As players like Mike Pouncey, Knowshon Moreno, Koa Misi, and Reshad Jones all look to rejoin the team, Miami will be looking to make a push to challenge for the AFC East division title. If they are able to do that, they should see their position in the various "Power Rankings" around the internet increast as well
SB Nation posted their most recent 2014 NFL Power Rankings today, with the Dolphins continuing to sit in the 24th spot, the same position they held last week.
To compare, the New England Patriots, after demolishing the previously undeafeted Cincinnati Bengals, rose two spots from 15 to 13 this week. The Buffalo Bills, who were 21st heading into Week 5, are now 17th after a road come-from-behind win over the Detroit Lions. And, finally, the New York Jets, who fell to 1-4 on the season after getting shutout by the San Diego Chargers 31-0 and looking no better with Michael Vick running the offense in the second half than they did with Geno Smith running it in the first half, remained 27th according to SB Nation, most likely because no one behind them did anything worthy of moving up.
Miami faces the Green Bay Packers this upcoming Sunday, with an opportunity to jump up SB Nation's Power Rankings if they can defeat the 9th ranked team. The Dolphins host the game at 1pm ET.
