Monday Night Football features two NFC teams this evening. One considered the gold standard of the NFL and the other just trying to survive the season with a back up QB and a new head coach. The Seahawks are of course coming off a Superbowl win last season and continue to look solid again this season at two and one. The Seahawks started the year with possibly the hardest three game stretch that any team will face in 2014, going up against the Packers, Chargers and Broncos in order. With a win over the Redskins this evening they will retain a portion of first place with the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West. The Seahawks have continued on their roll from last season with a balanced attack on offense led by quarterback Russell Wilson and of course the most smothering defense in the NFL.
For the Redskins to have a chance this evening against the Seahawks they will need to show a quick improvement on defense. After giving up only 27 points in their first two games of the season, the Redskins gave up a whopping 82 in the last two. On the other side of the ball the Redskins will likewise need a huge improvement from quarterback Kirk Cousins who has been starting in the place of injured QB Robert Griffin III. Cousins started out very strong in his first two games as the starter before throwing four interceptions against the Giants last week. Things of course do not get any easier this week, going up against one of the best defenses in the NFL. Washington will also need a heavy contribution from starting running back Alfred Morris on the ground to keep the Seahawks off the field if the Redskins are to have any chance of winning the game.
