Dolphins release statement on Derrick Shelby arrest

The Miami Dolphins have released a statement on the arrest of defensive lineman Derrick Shelby.

Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Derrick Shelby was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with trespassing and resisting arrest without violence at a Fort Lauderdale nightclub. The arrest occurred around 2:30am, with Shelby released later that morning.

The Dolphins released the following statement about the arrest: "We are aware of the reports regarding Derrick Shelby and are in the process of gathering information."

Miami is currently in the middle of their bye week. They won against the Oakland Raiders last week, winning 38-14 in London's Wembley Stadium as a part of the NFL's 2014 International Series. The team will next play the Green Bay Packers on October 11 in Miami.
