Sunday Night Football features two AFC franchises that seem to be going in different directions. After years of dominating the AFC East and being one of the most dominant teams in the AFC overall the Patriots seem to be on a major downward turn while the Bengals have become the cream of the crop in the AFC.
This season for the Pat's has featured a blown lead in the second half to the Miami Dolphins in their opener and an embarrassing loss last week to the Kansas City Chiefs by the tune of 14 to 41. Despite a 2 and 2 record this his has some of their own fans questioning if it is time to bench future hall of fame quarterback Tom Brady and begin looking to their future. Either way the 37 year old signal caller will have to somehow gain back some of his past magic if he hopes to compete with the Bengals this week. Cincinnati comes in to this week along with the Arizona Cardinals as one of only two unbeaten teams left in the NFL.
The Bengals have charged out to their unbeaten streak this season behind a balanced offense led by quarterback Andy Dalton and a running game spear headed by back Giovani Bernard. The Bengals offense is currently ranked 7th in the NFL and 2nd in the AFC. As good as their offense has been their defense has been better ranking first in the NFL and only yielding 11 points per game. Despite their success this season Andy Dalton has yet to throw a touchdown inside of his opponents 20 yard line. Helping the cause will be the return of starting wide out Martin Jones who was good for 10 scores last season.
