The Jets come limping in to this evenings game with their bottom of the league record of 1-5 and  head coach Rex Ryan no doubt counting the days until he is sent packing. If Rex hopes to hold on to his gig a bit longer he might start by finding a way to break his teams longest losing streak in 7 years with a win over the surging Patriots. The Pat's have won their last six at home against their AFC East division rivals. Things do not look to get better for the Jets who continue to start struggling quarterback Geno Smith. Smith enters the night completing only 57.1 percent of his passes and throwing 7 interceptions to only 6 touchdowns to go along with 5 fumbles for the season. Jets fans continue to clamor for back up Michael Vick while Ryan continues to stand by Smith saying, ''I think Geno is the best way to go right now'', ''That's why I'm comfortable saying he will be our starter''.  In order for the Jets to get back on track they will need to get back to rushing the ball effectively. They began the season near the top of the league in rushing yards at 151.3 yards per game only to see that number fall to an average 61 yards a game in the last two games.

The New England Patriots started out the year slow with an opening game beat-down at the hand of the Miami Dolphins. They did manage to win their 2nd and 3rd game of the season but over the not very good Minnesota Vikings and the downright horrible Oakland Raiders. In the 4th week they were throttled by the Kansas City Chiefs leading many in the media to question if Tom Brady's time ruling the AFC East had come to an end and if it was time for Patriots overlord Bill Billacheat to start looking for his replacement.  Since that time the Patriots have handled a very good Bengals team with ease by the tune of 43 to 17 and beat a much improved Bills team by a score of 37 to 22. They look to continue their rise that sees them at the top of the AFC East by beating a woeful Jets team. In Brady's previous five games at home against the Jets he has a 101.3 rating wit 9 touchdowns thrown to only one interception. Brady has of course been bolstered by the return in recent weeks of his favorite target, tight end Rob Gronkowski. In just the last two games Gronk has 13 catches for 194 yards and a touchdown.
