John Denney injured vs Packers

Miami Dolphins long snapper John Denney appears to have been injured against the Green Bay Packers.

USA TODAY Sports

Miami Dolphins long snapped John Denney appears to have sustained some sort of injury to his leg during the team's Week 6 game against the Green Bay Packers. The injury does not appear serious, and Denney is expected to return to the game.

The Dolphins do not have a backup long snapper listed on the depth chart. According to the Fox broadcast, linebacker Jason Trusnik was warming up with some snaps while Denney was being tended to by the medical staff on the sideline.

Denney has never missed a game in his 10-year career. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in the 2010 season, and has been a constant on the team since they signed him as an undrafted free agent out of BYU in 2005.

The Dolphins currently trail the Packers 10-3 late in the first half, though Miami's defense has been effective all game. The Packers have the ball coming out of the two-minute warning.

UPDATE: Denney was able to return to the game without missing a special teams snap.
