Dolphins vs Browns Halftime scores sees Cleveland lead 7-6

The Miami Dolphins trail the Cleveland Browns 7-6 at halftime of their Week 1 contest. Join us here for coverage of the second half.

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins have intercepted Brandon Weeden three times in the first half, yet trail at the midway point 7-6.  The Cleveland Browns scored a lead changing touchdown with 28 seconds left in the half.

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill is 12-for-28 for 98 yards, with one interception and a 57.2 passer rating.  Weeden, meanwhile, is 12-for-21 for 118 yards, a touchdown pass, three picks, and a 49.4 passer rating.

Dimitri Patterson has two interceptions, while Nolan Carroll has the third for Miami.  Cleveland's Tashaun Gipson picked off Tannehill.

The Dolphins biggest issue in the first half has been the offensive line, either allowing pressure or failing to open running lanes.  Cleveland has one of the better run defenses in the league, and is holding Lamar Miller to three yards on seven carries and Daniel Thomas to one year on one carry.  The Browns have three sacks already, while Miami has one, split between Randy Starks and Cameron Wake.

Rookie kicker Caleb Sturgis is 2-for-2 on the day, with a 45 yarder and a 49 yarder.

The Dolphins will receive the ball first in the second half, and will be looking to put points on the board by getting into the endzone, rather than settling for field goals.
