Both the Patriots and the Jets come in to this game following a short practice week. Both teams likewise are coming off week one contest that saw them barely squeak out a win. The Patriots kicked a field goal with 5 seconds to go to secure a victory over the Buffalo Bills. The Jets, with time running out, following a scramble from Geno Smith for ten yards and a 15 yard penalty for a hit on Smith out of bounds found themselves at the Bucs 30 and managed to kick the winning field goal with 2 seconds remaining.
The Jets enter the game with rookie Geno Smith leading them at QB. Smith in week one struggled a bit in the first half only to rebound in the second half, at one point going 12 of 18 on passing and ending the game 24 of 38 for 256 yards and a touchdown to match his one interception. The Jets are also featuring 7 new starters on defense. Expect to see the Patriots target Jets rookie CB Dee Milliner following his rough week one debut.
The Patriots enter the game with several questions that mostly seem to center around Tom Brady's targets. This past off season saw many of Tom's favorite targets either leave for free agency, leave for the comforts of a jail cell or struggle to return from injury. Week two does not get much better for the Pat's as Wes Welkers replacement Danny Amendola enters this week injured along with injuries to tight end Zach Sudfeld and and wide receiver Aaron Dobson.
