The Miami Dolphins are preparing to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday. Given it is just a preseason game, the depth chart actually will play an important role, as we see the Jaguars reserves play most of the game. Here's a look at their chart, and some thoughts.

Offense

1st Team 2nd Team 3rd Team
WR Cecil Shorts Mike Brown Mohamed Massaquoi
Toney Clemons Jeremy Ebert
LT Eugene Monroe Cameron Bradfield Mark Asper
LG Will Rackley Jason Spitz Roderick Tomlin
C Brad Meester Mike Brewster Dan Gerberry
RG Uche Nwaneri Dan Gerberry Drew Nowak
RT Luke Joeckel Austin Pastzor RJ Dill
TE Marcedes Lewis Allen Reisner Isaiah Stanback
Brett Brackett Ryan Otten
WR Justin Blackmon Ace Sanders Jordan Shipley
Tobias Palmer Jamal Miles
Denard Robinson
QB Blaine Gabbert Mike Kafka Matt Scott
Chad Henne Denard Robinson
RB Maurice Jones-Drew Justin Forsett Denard Robinson
Jonathan Grimes Jordan Todman
De'Leon Eskridge
FB Will Ta'ufo'ou Lonnie Pryor

Gabbert and Henne are listed on the depth chart as co-starters, and coach Gus Bradley has said he won't make a decision on which of the two will take the first snap until Friday. It's going to be Gabbert, but they are trying to keep this quarterback competition "open" for as long as they can.

Denard Robinson's roster listing of "OW" or offensive weapons reflects on the depth chart, where he is listed as a running back, a receiver, and a quarterback.

I'm surprised that Massaquoi is as far down the depth chart as he is, but reports from around the Jaguars seem to indicate he is struggling in training camp.

Defense

1st Team 2nd Team 3rd Team
LDE Tyson Alualu Jeremy Mincey Pannel Egboh
DT Roy Miller Kyle Love TJ Barnes
DT Sen'Derrick Marks Brandon Deaderick D'Anthony Smith
Abry Jones
LEO Jason Babin Andre Branch Ryan Davis
Paul Hazel JD Griggs
OLB Geno Hayes Julian Stanford Maalik Bomar
MLB Paul Posluszny LaRoy Reynolds Mike Zimmer
OLB Russell Allen Brandon Marshall Jeremiah Green
LCB Dwayne Gratz Kevin Rutland Mike Harris
Marcus Burley Lionel Smith
RCB Alan Ball Mike Harris Marcus Trufant
Demetrius McCray
SS Johnathan Cyprien Chris Prosinski Ray Polk
FS Dwight Lowery Josh Evans Steven Terrell
Antwon Blake

I was big on Cyprien leading up to the draft, so I am happy to see him listed as the starting safety. He's been injured early in training camp, so I doubt he will see any playing time on Friday. But, he is their top strong safety tight now.

Special Teams

1st Team 2nd Team 3rd Team
P Bryan Anger Ken Parrish
PK Josh Scobee Adam Yates
H Bryan Anger Ken Parrish
PR Jordan Shipley Ace Sanders Mike Brown
Tobias Palmer
KR Jordan Todman Denard Robinson Jordan Shipley
Tobias Palmer Jamal Miles
LS Jeremy Cain Carson Tinker Luke Ingram

It's special teams. I don't really have any thoughts here.
