  • Last Dolphins win in Miami: December 30, 2001
  • First time Miami has hosted Atlanta in their home opener.

2012 Review:

  • Record: 13-3
  • Total Offense: 8
  • Total Defense: 24

Atlanta key additions:

  • Steven Jackson, Running back
  • Osi Umenyiora, Defensive end

Atlanta key departures:

  • Brent Grimes, Cornerback
  • John Abraham, Defensive end
  • Michael Turner, Running back
  • Tyson Clabo, Offensive tackle

Atlanta Draft:

Round Pick Player Position School
1 22 Desmond Trufant CB Washington
2 60 Robert Alford CB Southeastern Louisiana
4 127 Malliciah Goodman DE Clemson
4 133 Levine Toilolo TE Stanford
5 153 Stansly Maponga DE TCU
7 243 Kemal Ishmael S Central Florida
7 244 Zeke Motta S Notre Dame
7 254 Sean Renfree QB Duke

Question Marks:

  • Pass rush: The Falcons have to improve their pass rush, recording just 29 sacks on the season, ranking 28th in the league. They signed Osi Umenyiora to assist in bringing up the pressure, however they lost John Abraham so that could be a push.
  • Secondary: The Falcons could be relying on rookies Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford for key cornerback coverage this season. That's always a dangerous situation, which could be boom or bust.
