Dolphins roster cuts: Can Evan Rodriguez make the roster during the Saints vs Dolphins game?

The Miami Dolphins face the New Orleans Saints, with the next round of roster cuts just two days away. One player who needs to make an impression tonight is fullback Evan Rodriguez. Can he make the roster with a strong performance tonight?

The fourth week of the NFL Preseason is all about the depth of the roster getting one last chance to impress the coaching staff.  For the Miami Dolphins, who host the New Orleans Saints tonight, that means a player like fullback Evan Rodriguez gets a chance to fight for his job.  Can he do enough to earn a spot on the 53 man roster?

A 2012 fourth round pick by the Chicago Bears, Rodriguez was waived by the Bears in June and was claimed by the Dolphins.  He brings with him baggage, including a couple of alcohol related arrests, one in March in Miami Beach, when all charges were dropped, and a DUI charge by the Illinois State Police in May.

In his short time in Miami, Rodriguez has not had any issues, but also has not been a major part of the offense.  With the injury to tight end Dustin Keller two weeks ago, the Dolphins are looking for someone to step up, whether a tight end or a fullback.  In tonight's game, Rodriguez is expected to see significant playing time, both as a pass catching tight end, and out of the backfield.

But, will he be able to do enough to claim a roster spot?

What do you think the Dolphins coaches will need to see from Rodriguez for him to earn a spot on the 53-man roster come Saturday?
