Dolphins injury report update

The Miami Dolphins are preparing to face the New Orleans Saints in the final week of the preseason. As we prepare for that game Thursday night, we take a look at the state of the Dolphins’ health.

The Miami Dolphins host the New Orleans Saints Thursday night in the final round of NFL Preseason games.  The Dolphins are still dealing with some injuries, but are also starting to see some players return to practice.  Let's take a look at some of the injuries around Miami right now.

- Dion Jordan, defensive end: Jordan has been out of practice for a little over two weeks now, and has missed the last two games as well.  The common speculation at this point is either the team is being overly cautious about Jordan's surgically repaired shoulder, or the third overall pick re-injured that shoulder somehow.  Jordan was back at practice today, taking part in the individual drills.  He may not be ready for the regular season opener, but he is beginning to progress toward a full return.

- Will Davis, cornerback: Davis left the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers limping, but it did not seem that serious.  However, Davis has been absent at practice the last two days, which likely means he is in the facility receiving treatment of some sort.

- John Jerry, guard: Jerry played two series against the Buccaneers, and appears to be preparing to be the starting right guard on opening day.  He missed a large chunk of training camp, dealing with an undisclosed (knee) injury, and was slowly being worked back into the lineup.  He was again working with the first team today, so it looks like he should be ready to go.

The Dolphins face the Saints at 7:30pm ET Thursday night.
