Antonio Smith suspended for helmet swing at Richie Incognito

On Saturday, against the Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito had to deal with more than just a pass rush. Houston defensive end Antonio Smith decided to use Incognito's helmet as a weapon against the Dolphins Pro Bowler.

Blocking hard charging defensive linemen?  Just a part of the job.  Dodging your own helmet when it is swung at your head?  No big deal, at least according to Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito.  The Miami Pro Bowler had to do just that on Saturday, when Houston Texans defensive end Antonio Smith decided to rip the helmet from Incognito's head and use it as a weapon against the Dolphins player.

Today, on Twitter, Incognito downplayed the incident.

However, the league saw it as a little more than just someone losing his cool.  Smith was suspended for the Texans season opener against the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football.  Smith will also have to sit out the two remaining preseason games for the Texans.

Smith has said he will appeal the suspension.
