Dolphins vs Texans 17-14 Houston at Half: Recap and Live Game Thread

The Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans have reached halftime. The Texans lead 17-14, but the story of the game is the injury to Miami tight end Dustin Keller.

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans are at the half, with Houston leading 17-14.  The Dolphins had their starting offensive play nearly the entire first half, while the defense was in and out throughout the first two periods.

Ryan Tannehill finished the half 10-for-15 for 141 yards with one touchdown, giving him a 119.0 passer rating.  The leading receiver in the half was Mike Wallace, with three receptions for 58 yards, with Tannehill's touchdown pass.  Daniel Thomas leads the game with four carries for 25 yards.  Lamar Miller scored late in the second quarter to tie the game at 14.

Of course, the story of the game will be the injury to tight end Dustin Keller.  Just before the Miller touchdown run, Keller was hit in the knee as he tried to make a reception.  Keller's body went one way, while his lower leg went the other.  He was carted off the field.

Matt Moore and the second team offense came into the game with 1:49 left in the half, but was unable to move the ball.

Following the Miami punt, the Texans drove into Dolphins territory and kicked a 46-yard field goal with one second remaining on the clock after the kick.  The half ended on the subsequent kickoff.

The Dolphins will get the ball to start the third period.
