The Miami Dolphins are continuing their wide receiver hunt, with a second player added yesterday. Last night, news that the team had re-signed former Dolphins receiver Julius Pruitt to replace the injured Armon Binns broke. This morning, reports indicate the team also signed rookie Keenan Davis to replace another injured receiver, rookie Jasper Collins.
Both Binns and Collins have been waived injured, meaning they are free to be claimed by another team, but, if no team claims them, they will be placed on the Dolphins' injured reserve list. Miami could also reach an injury settlement with the players, cutting ties with them and making them free agents.
Binns tore his ACL and MCL in his left knee earlier this week. The injury to Collins has not been disclosed.
The 6',3", 215 pound Davis played college football at Iowa where, as a senior, he caught 47 passes for 571 yards, with one touchdown. His most productive year was as a junior, when he caught 50 passes for 713 yards and 4 scores. He was originally signed by the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent, but was released before the start of training camp.
