Free agent wide receivers available for Dolphins

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Armon Binns tore his ACL and MCL earlier today, leaving the second half of the Dolphins' depth chart at the position wide open. Could Miami be looking to free agency to add a number four receiver?

Phil Sears-US PRESSWIRE

The Miami Dolphins and wide receiver Armon Binns received bad news earlier today when he was diagnosed with torn ACL and MCL tendons in his knee. Just like that, Binns lost his 2013 season and the Dolphins lost their number four receiver.

While the team could look to players like Marvin McNutt, Brian Tyms, or Rishard Matthews, to fill the position, the Dolphins are likely taking a look at players that are available via free agency right now. Of course, we can do the exact same thing:

Player 2012 Team Games Receptions Yards TDs
Early Doucet Arizona Cardinals 12 28 207 0
Donald Jones Buffalo Bills 12 41 443 4
Ruvell Martin Buffalo Bills 14 4 41 0
Brandon Stokley Denver Broncos 15 45 544 5
Austin Collie Indianapolis Colts 1 1 6 0
Laurent Robinson Jacksonville Jaguars 7 24 252 0
Mike Sims-Walker Jacksonville Jaguars 0 0 0 0
Steve Breaston Kansas City Chiefs 15 7 74 0
Brandon Lloyd New England Patriots 16 74 911 4
Deion Branch New England Patriots 10 16 145 0
Seyi Ajirotutu San Diego Chargers 3 3 45 0
Randy Moss San Francisco 49ers 16 28 434 3
Sammie Stroughter Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3 1 14 0
Roscoe Parrish Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13 30 298 0
Brandon Banks Washington Redskins 12 26 178 0

Looking at the list, the two most likely candidates are Laurent Robinson or Brandon Lloyd, although with the youth movement going on in Miami this year, another undrafted free agent could be brought in to fill the roster spot.

Anyone on that list you would like to see the Dolphins pursue? Any UDFA out there you have been keeping an eye on? Or should the Dolphins just stand pat, and hope that the receivers they currently have will be able to man the depth chart? Maybe they should just wait to see who gets waived during the early roster cuts?
