Despite the Miami Dolphins being in the middle of their final Organized Team Activity (OTA) of the 2013 offseason, the support for the local community does not stop. Dolphins players Dan Carpenter, John Denney, Brandon Fields, John Jerry, Jorvorskie Lane, Richard Marshall, Rishard Matthews, Lamar Miller, Kyle Miller, Marvin McNutt, Mike Pouncey, Josh Samuda, Austin Spitler, Marcus Thigpen and Jason Trusnik hosted 40 students from Henry S. Reeves Elementary in Miami Dade for an end of year celebration at Monster Mini Golf in Miramar.
"It's awesome," said Spitler. "It's good to get out here and enjoy and spend some time with the kids. It's always good to give back. It puts a smile on our face just as much as it puts a smile on their face."
"This is another example of the Dolphins in our community and certainly what they do in education, added Mark Zaher, Director of School Operations for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. "It's a great opportunity for them to have some fun today, to be with really good mentors. These players can send really good messages to kids on how important it is to stay in school."
