He wears No. 29, and he's officially a Miami Dolphin as of today.
The Dolphins and Will Davis, their third-round selection out of Utah State, this afternoon reached an agreement on four-year deal worth somewhere in the vicinity of $2.7 million. The deal will include a signing bonus of about $520,000.
Davis, at 5-foot-11, 186, is an aggressive cornerback prospect with the agility and sharp instincts to handle the perimeter in Kevin Coyle's defensive scheme. Davis may be a work in progress in terms of man-coverage ability and overall ball skills, but he has the heavy hands and closing burst to project as an excellent zone-based defender in the NFL.
Davis was one of two cornerbacks selected by the Dolphins in the 2013 NFL Draft (the team selected Boise State's Jamar Taylor in the second round). Miami's two remaining unsigned rookies are defensive end Dion Jordan, the No. 3 overall selection in 2013, and guard Dallas Thomas, a third-round selection out of Tennessee.
