The Miami Dolphins have made their first selection of the 2013 NFL Draft. With the third overall pick, after a trade with the Oakland Raider, Miami selected defensive end Dion Jordan from Oregon.
The Dolphins came into the draft with 11 picks over the three day selection process, They now have the following picks remaining:
Round 2 - 42nd
Round 2 - 54th (From Indianapolis Colts for Vontae Davis)
Round 3 - 77th
Round 3 - 82nd (From Chicago Bears for Brandon Marshall)
Round 4 - 111th
Round 5 - 146th
Round 5 - 166th (Compensatory)
Round 7 - 217th
Round 7 - 224th (From Dallas Cowboys for Ryan Cook)
Round 7 - 250th (Compensatory)
The team also entered the draft with several needs to be addressed. With the pick, the Dolphins still could be looking at offensive tackle, cornerback, defensive end, tight end, wide receiver, and running back on the day.
