Miami Dolphins fans, it's time to get out the vote. Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino has advanced into the third round of ESPN's fan vote for the Madden 25 cover. In what will be his toughest challenge yet, Marino will face San Francisco 49ers great, and fellow Hall of Famer, Joe Montana.
Marino, the "fourth seed" in the bracket style setup, beat Reggie Wayne in the first round of the "Old School" side of the bracket. He backed that up with a win over the fifth seeded Marshall Faulk in the second round to advance to face the top seeded Montana.
In the "New School" bracket, current Dolphins starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill was seeded 16th and faced off against his fellow Class of 2012 quarterback, and top seed, Robert Griffin III. RG3 won that face-off, eliminating Tannehill.
If Marino were to advance with the upset over Montana, he would face the winner of the Barry Sanders and Ray Lewis matchup in the semifinals of the Old School side.
