Just when you think it's safe to back into the AFC East....
Earlier today, the New England Patriots lost receiver Wes Welker to free agency. Welker took his 100+ catches in six of the last seven seasons to the Denver Broncos. As the rest of the AFC East celebrated Welker leaving the division, the Patritos went to work finding their replacement.
The team agreed to a five year, $31 million contract with former St. Louis Rams receiver Danny Amendola today.
Amendola injured his shoulder last season, missing several games. When he went down, he was leading the league in receptions. He finished the year with 63 receptions in 11 games for 666 yards and 3 touchdowns. Over his four year career, Amendola has 196 receptions for 1,726 yards, and 7 touchdowns.
Head over to Pats Pulpit for more on the Amendola signing and everything else form our AFC East rivals, the New England Patriots.
