MNF Live Thread: Saints @ Seahawks Edition

The New Orleans Saints travel to Seattle this evening to take on the Seahawks. Join us here to discuss this game or yesterdays Dolphins victory over the New York Jets.

Unlike last nights extravaganza of lets watch two terrible teams who's seasons are over play on prime time we have a great match-up this evening. The NFC's two top teams, the New Orleans Saints (9-2) and the Seattle Seahawks (10-1) face off tonight separated by only one game in the chase for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Saint's have their work cut out for them as Seattle is not only one of the hardest places for an opponent to play, having one of the most rabid crowds in the NFL but the Seahawks also hold a 13 game win streak at home and a 6 game win streak this season.

Seattle though is not without their problems. Stop me if you have heard this one before- Seahawks corneback Walter Thurmond was suspended last week for four games following a violation of the leagues substance abuse policy. Seattle was already missing cornerback Brandon Browner due to injury. This of course bodes well for the Saints who bring one of the most dangerous single callers, Drew Brees, to town. Of course the Saints, deadly at home, have had what struggles they have had on the road this year. Tonight’s contest lines up to be their most difficult of the season thus far.

Despite the Seahawks losses in the secondary they boast one of the top defenses in the NFL. The Saint's own defense has also played much better this season following the addition of Rob Ryan to coordinate the defense. The winner of tonight’s game will hold the inside track to home field advantage.
