Patriots vs Dolphins recap: First half in pictures

The Miami Dolphins held on to beat the New England Patriots yesterday in a game that, once again, came down to the last few seconds. We take a look back at the first half of the game this morning through some of the pictures taken at Sun Life Stadium.

The Miami Dolphins were able to defeat the New England Patriots for the first time since 2009 with a 24-20 victory yesterday. The game came down to the final New England drive, with Tom Brady looking like he was going to once again break the hearts of the Dolphins players and fans.

Instead, Michael Thomas, a safety poached off the San Francisco 49ers practice squad just five days earlier and playing out of position at cornerback, came down with a game ending interception, and Miami not only kept their own postseason chances alive, but also ruined New England's chance to take control of the AFC and earn the top spot in the playoffs.

During the game, I took over 700-pictures, which I will post here, on our Facebook page, and share on Twitter. That starts this morning with a 50-picture set, all from the first half of the game.

I'm traveling today, so I will post the second half pictures as soon as I can.

It was a great day at Sun Life Stadium. I've never heard that stadium get as loud as it was on Sunday. Meaningful December football is awesome. Meaningful December football against the Patriots was that much better.

Enjoy the pictures!
