Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey returned to the team on Thursday following an appearance on Wednesday before a Massachusetts grand jury considering additional charges against former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, who is in jail after being charged with murder.

Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey missed the team's Wednesday practice while he was in Massachusetts, answer the subpoena that he was served in October. The grand jury is thought to be considering additional charges against former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, who is currently being held without bail on charges that he murdered Odin Lloyd.

Pouncey was served with the subpoena as he was preparing to leave Gillette Stadium after the Dolphins' loss to the Patriots on October 27. Hernandez and Pouncey were teammates and roommates at the University of Florida.

The missed practice landed Pouncey on the Wednesday injury report for "non-injury" reasons. When the team updated their report on Thursday, an NFL requirement despite Miami not practicing on Thursdays this year, Pouncey was no longer listed on the report. The indications are Pouncey is back in Miami and would have been able to practice if the Dolphins had held a workout.

The Dolphins face the Patriots this Sunday. New England also had an update to their Wednesday injury report on Thursday, with tackle Nate Solder moving from did not practice to limited in the workout as he looks to return from a concussion.

Both teams will issue their final injury reports later today. Kickoff is at 1pm ET Sunday.
