SNF Live Thread: Giants @ Redskins Edition

In the why did they not flex out of this game of the week the 4 and 7 New York Giants travel to Landover, Maryland this evening to take on the 3 and 8 Washington Redskins. Join us here to discuss this game and of course all the other happenings in the NFL this Sunday.

USA TODAY Sports

The 2013 season has been a rough one for both of tonight’s teams. The Redskins are coming off of a 2012 season that saw them win the NFC East for the first time in 13 years. Much of the troubles with the Redskins this season can be traced to the struggles of second year starting quarterback Robert Griffin III. Griffin it seems has never regained the magic that he possessed in his rookie campaign after suffering an injury in his first ever playoff game.

The Giant's are of course only two years removed from their last Super Bowl victory and yet, like the Redskins seem to be battling to not be the last place team in their own division. Mathematically both are technically still in the hunt for the division but it is very unlikely that either team catches the Cowboys or Eagles. The Giants now limp in to this game with a questionable defense, a quarterback that seems to have lost it unless completing passes to the opponent becomes a good thing and a defensive line that use to be the best in the NFL and is now the weak point of the team.
