A torn labrum has landed Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin on injured reserve, the team announced today. Martin initially injured his shoulder three weeks ago against the Atlanta Falcons, but had been trying to rehab it and get back on the field this year, before undergoing surgery after the season. Apparently, that will not be happening.
Former Miami Hurricanes running back Mike James, who had been filling in for Martin the past few weeks, will now officially replace him atop the depth chart.
The Buccaneers host the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football this week. Martin had been listed as a non-participant in practice on the Tampa Bay first injury report of the week.
