The Miami Dolphins have awakened from whatever stupor they were in during the first quarter of their Monday Night Football game at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The passing game has found life, the defense has gotten aggressive, and the Dolphins have...
After the Dolphins scored a touchdown with 32 seconds remaining in the first half, it has been all Miami. In the third period, the Dolphins started with an eight-play drive for 31-yards, but had to punt. They then held the Buccaneers to a three-and-out, after a Brandon Fields coffin corner punt went out of bounds at the one-yard line.
Marcus Thigpen returned the punt to the Tampa Bay 29 yard line, and four plays later, Miami kicked a field goal to pull to within five points at 15-10.
Following another Tampa Bay punt, Ryan Tannehill connected with Rishard Matthews for a 19-yard touchdown pass. After missing the two-point conversion, the Dolphins had a 16-15 lead.
On the third play of the next drive, great pressure from Dion Jordan led to a poor throw from Mike Glennon, and an interception by Jimmy Wilson. The Dolphins would kick a field goal to end the drive and take a 19-15 lead as the quarter ended.
Through three quarters, Matthews has 11 receptions for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Tannehill is 22-for-33 for 192 yards and 2 touchdowns, giving him a 102.1 passer rating.
