Dolphins vs Buccaneers first quarter report: Miami embarrass their way to 10-0 deficit

The Miami Dolphins have come out and laid an egg early in the team's Monday Night Football match up with the Tampa Bay Buccanneers.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins have simply done nothing so far in the team's Monday Night Football game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  The Dolphins have one first down and 31 yards in just 4:36 of possession during the first quarter.

The Buccaneers led 10-0 after one.

Simply put, the Dolphins have embarrassed themselves tonight.  The offense cannot do anything and the defense is letting any running back in the game run for as long as they want.  Starting running back Mike James averaged 8.2 yards per carry on the team's first drive, before being injured one play before the Tampa Bay touchdown.  Brian Leonard has replaced James, and is averaging 5.2 yards per carry now.

The second quarter started just as ugly for Miami, with the defense forcing a punt, only to see the Buccaneers down the ball on the two yard line, and the offensive line simply not block anyone on the second running attempt, giving up the sack.

It's been ugly, and it's not getting better.

As this publishes, Tampa Bay is getting the ball back up 12-0 with 13:30 to play in the second period.
