For obvious reasons, Veterans Day is an important holiday to me. I have been honored to lead some of the best men and women in the nation, been mentored by some amazing leaders, and met some great peers. I've been lucky with my assignments and amazed by what Soldiers can do.
But, I don't want to turn this into some sort of soliloquy from me on what I have done in my career. I just wanted to say thank you to all of those that have served, and continue to serve, especially over the past decade of war. While each and every day we should be thankful for your service, and we should always remember those who have fallen, today is simply a special day to say thank you, not just to those who have fallen, but to all Veterans.
You make it so we can have places like the Phinsider to talk about something like football.
During tonight's game, which, of course, will include the Miami Dolphins, there will be plenty of pomp-and-circumstance, but I wanted to take a minute, and a small part of the Phinsider, simply to say thank you to all of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen on Veterans Day (or Remembrance Day for those of you in the UK, Canada, and the rest of the Commonwealth of Nations).
So, thank you.
