Due to a scheduling conflict with the Oakland Athletics who had a playoff series game today the NFL has moved this game to the rare vary late time of 11:35 PM. The Chargers come in to this game at 2 and 2 and hope to keep pace with the division leader Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos. Up to this point in the season the Chargers offense has looked good and quarterback Philip Rivers is off to a great start and is second in the NFL, only behind Denver's Peyton Manning with a 118.8 QB rating.
Oakland, despite sitting at 1 and 3 had played much better then many expected going in to the season and have one of the better pass defenses in the NFL. If Oakland had any hope of pulling out a victory this evening they must slow down Chargers TE Antonio Gates and break the streak that has seen San Diego win the previous three meetings.
