The NFL kicks off Week 9 tonight with the return of Thursday Night Football. Before the kickoff, we take a look at the current playoff picture in the AFC.

The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs are, of course, in the top spot, leading the AFC West. In second place in the AFC West, the Denver Broncos have the second best record in the conference, but fall to the fifth seed as the first Wildcard team.

The NFC North leading Cincinnati Bengals have the second slot, with a 6-2 record, while the AFC East leading New England Patriots hold a claim on the third spot with their own 6-2 mark. Finally, the Indianapolis Colts round out the division leaders, taking the fourth spot with a 5-2 record.

After the Broncos in the fifth position, the AFC West third place team, the San Diego Chargers, are currently in position to claim the final Wildcard spot at 4-3.

The five "in the hunt" teams are the New York Jets (4-4), the Tennessee Titans (3-4), the Baltimore Ravens (3-4), the Oakland Raiders (3-4), and the Miami Dolphins (3-4). The rest of the conference has the Cleveland Browns at 3-5, followed by the Buffalo Bills, also 3-5, then the Houston Texans and Pittsburgh Steelers, both at 2-5, and, finally, the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-8).

Tonight's Thursday Night Football game features the Bengals at the Dolphins, with kickoff at 8:25pm ET.
