Dolphins’ Super Bowl odds decimated by Saints loss

Two weeks ago, the Miami Dolphins were starting to climb up the odds for winning this year’s Super Bowl. After reaching 33-to-1 odds, the Dolphins have seen their number drop drastically following a 38-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

What a difference a week makes. After starting the season as 50-to-1 odds to win the Super Bowl, the Miami Dolphins started the season 3-0 and were looking good going into an undefeated match up with the New Orleans Saints. Leaving the Superdome with plenty of wounds to lick and a 38-17 loss, the Dolphins would no longer be among the league's undefeated, and would likely see their 33-to-1 odds of bringing a Lombardi Trophy back to South Florida lengthen a little.

Or a lot. Following that one loss, the Dolphins are now back to 50-to-1, according to Bovada's website.

Yes, they have dropped any gains they had made with the book makers this season, falling all the way back to their preseason odds. That really was one bad game.

The Dolphins are listed with 20-to-1 odds to win the AFC, putting them right in the middle of the conference odds. They are 4-to-1 to win the AFC East.
