DE Dion Jordan (1st Round Pick, 3rd overall). Grade: B
The Dolphins continue to use their third overall pick sparingly, playing him for less than 40 percent of the defensive snaps against the Bills. Also, interestingly, he's still being used almost exclusively as a pass rusher, rarely dropping into coverage or playing on running downs.
Jordan had two quarterback hurries Sunday, including a punishing hit on Thad Lewis in the second quarter that forced an incompletion.
Season GPA: 2.57 Team Rank: 2nd
CB Jamar Taylor (2nd Round Pick, 54th overall). Grade: C
The high draft pick was dressed Sunday, but was relegated exclusively to special teams work. Taylor did not crack the defensive lineup due in part to the return of Dimitri Patterson.
Season GPA: 1.43 Team Rank: 6th
OL Dallas Thomas (3rd Round Pick, 77th overall). Grade: I (Incomplete)
Despite Miami's offensive line struggles, it doesn't appear Thomas is any closer to seeing the field.
Season GPA: N/A Team Rank: N/A
CB Will Davis (3rd Round Pick, 93rd overall). Grade: I (Incomplete)
At this point, Davis' continued listing on the inactives list is becoming concerning.
Season GPA: N/A Team Rank: N/A
LB Jelani Jenkins (4th Round Pick, 104th overall). Grade: D+
Jenkins saw plenty of action at middle linebacker on passing downs against the Bills, splitting time with Jason Trusnik to fill the void left by the injured Dannell Ellerbe. Jenkins often struggled navigating around bodies to either defend a screen pass or chase a ball-carrier, at one point being the weak link of the defense that allowed Bills fullback Frank Summers to rumble for 16 yards on his first career carry.
Jenkins did, however, execute a delayed blitz that resulted in a quarterback hit that drew a questionable roughing the passer penalty. Despite the flag, the rookie showed good speed and aggressiveness on the play.
Season GPA: 1.6 Team Rank: 5th
Dion Sims (4th Round Pick, 106th overall). Grade: C-
Sims continues to be used primarily as an inline blocker, posing as a non-factor in the passing game. He's been targeted just twice all season, with one drop and one game-winning touchdown.
Season GPA: 2.02 Team Rank: 3rd
RB Mike Gillislee (5th Round Pick, 164th overall). Grade: I (Incomplete)
A healthy scratch, once again.
Season GPA: N/A Team Rank: N/A
K Caleb Sturgis (5th Round Pick, 166th overall). Grade: C
Sturgis grazed the outside of the right upright on a 51-yard field goal attempt in the driving wind Sunday, hardly a routine chip shot. Tough to blame the strong-legged rookie for missing the attempt, his second straight from 50+ that's gone wide.
Season GPA: 3.38 Team Rank: 1st
DB Don Jones (7th Round Pick, 250th overall). Grade: D
On a first quarter punt, Jones was flagged for being the first player to touch the ball after re-entering the field from out of bounds, a wrinkle of the rulebook any punt team gunner should know. The mental error wiped away a beautiful net 74-yard punt by Brandon Fields, ultimately costing his team 40 yards of field position after the ensuing re-kick.
The Bills scored a touchdown with the short field.
Season GPA: 1.95 Team Rank: 4th
