The Buffalo Bills are set to work out free agent quarterback Matt Flynn as they deal with a rash of injuries to their quarterback position. Thad Lewis, who started on Sunday, was injured in the team's game against the Cincinnati Bengals yesterday.

The rotating starters at quarterback for the Buffalo Bills may be getting ready to take another turn. After starting Thad Lewis, who had been on the team's practice squad prior to last week, against the Cincinnati Bengals this week, the Bills now have a workout setup with free agent quarterback Matt Flynn.

Flynn spent Sunday in Buffalo, despite Bills coach Doug Marrone having stated that, if Lewis played well on Sunday, he would remain the starter. Lewis was 19-for-32 for 216 yards and two touchdowns against the Bengals. However, he also left the game in a walking boot.

Flynn was released by the Oakland Raider last week after they traded for him in the offseason. He did start one game for the Raiders, going 21-for-32 for 227 yards, with a touchdown and an interception in the team's Week 4, 24-13 loss to the Washington Redskins. Leading a performance that resulted in no points scored in the final three quarters for the Raiders led to Flynn being demoted to third string before being released.

Prior to his time in Oakland, Flynn spent a season with the Seattle Sehawks, where he had signed a three-year $20.5 million contract as the top free agent quarterback not named Peyton Manning. Flynn cashed in on his four years as the backup to Aaron Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers, where he started two games, including his team record 48- yard, six touchdown performance in the final game of the 2011 season.

Currently, Buffalo's quarterback choices are rookie Jeff Tuel, who is on the 53-man roster, and Dennis Dixon, who is on the practice squad. The Bills face the Miami Dolphins this week, as the Dolphins come off their bye week. Buffalo is currently 2-4 on the season while the Dolphins are 3-2.
