The Miami Dolphins have signed free agent linebacker Josh Linam. Linam was released July 27 by the San Diego Chargers, originally signing him as an undrafted free agent on April 30. Linam played college football at the University of Central Florida.
Linam is a 6', 3" 237 pound linebacker with four years of experience with the Knights. He tallied a total of 165 tackles, 20 for a loss, with three career interceptions, and three sacks. He dealt with multiple injuries over his final two seasons with UCF. After he was signed by the Chargers, he told the Orlando Sentinel, "I feel really good right now. I had some really nagging injuries I played through throughout my time [at UCF] but they're all healed up now and I feel faster and stronger than ever. I'm going there with the intent of making the 53-man roster."
Linam's signing fills the roster spot freed up by the release of wide receiver Chad Johnson earlier this week.
