Well I suspected that this weekend following the first pre-season game might be a little slow on the news front with players getting back to practice and not much more. Enter the latest NFL arrest. Our very own Chad Johnson. I am sure there is still plenty left to come out about this story and who did what and who started what but either way it's a story that none of us are pleased to see nor is this sort of distraction what the Dolphins had hoped to get from the veteran wide out when they signed him over other vets that they could have snagged.
Of course there is still the drama of the QB battle and with or without Chad there is a wide receiver battle to decide. I am also intrigued with the whole Vontae Davis saga. Anyone out there care to fill me in as to where that whole deal is going to wind up? I hope that he finds the motivation to be the player we all think he can be based on the flashes and the stretches of good play he has had in the past. I guess what bothers me is that after last off-season and all the flack these guys took for being out of shape at the beginning of the season that any of them, especially an assumed starter, would show up to camp out of shape.
