The Miami Dolphins announced today that the team will be adding three new members to the team's Ring of Honor. On October 14, during the team's game against the St. Louis Rams, linebacker Zach Thomas and defensive end/linebacker Jason Taylor will both be inducted. The two made the nucleus of the Dolphins defensive in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Taylor is married to Thomas' sister.
The Dolphins will then add assistant coach Bill Arnsparger to the Ring on December 16 during the halftime celebration against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Arnsparger worked with the Dolphins from 1969-1974 and again from 1976-1983. His induction into the Ring of Honor will coincide with a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Dolphins' 1972 Perfect Season.
