Before tonight's first preseason game of the year, the Miami Dolphins will announce the newest name (names?) to be added to the team's Ring of Honor. There are currently 19 players, one coach (Don Sula), one owner (Joe Robbie), and the entire 1972 Perfect Season team on the Dolphins Ring of Honor.

This year, there are several players who could be in consideration for the honor. As the Miami Herald's Dave Hyde lists in his Hyde5 for today, John Offerdahl, Sam Madison, Patrick Surtain, and Ricky Williams all could be added to the ring. But, it's two other names that will most likely be released at 5:30pm Eastern today.

The question is, will the two go in together. Of course, the names are Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor. The brothers-in-law epitomized the strength of the Dolphins defense in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Taylor retired at the end of last year, joining Thomas, who last played in 2008 (trying to make the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009, but having to retire due to injuries). Now, the fact that Thomas is not already in the Ring of Honor could make sense.

The team could have been waiting until today, when it can put them in together.

We'll find out in two hours.
