The Miami Dolphins are holding their third day of training camp practices today, highlighted by both the reporting of rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill and the team's first day in full pads. Later today, we will feature a full breakdown of the day's work, but here are some early notes on the day:
The Dolphins are in pads except for the injured players and Ryan Tannehill who gets three days to acclimate.

Moore and Garrard working with WRs on far field. Devlin, Tannehill throwing to backs, TEs on near field. Clear where starter competition is.

Ryan Tannehill just rolled out and threw a nice sideline pass to Roberto Wallace.

I have no idea what Pat Devlin has done for the past 12 months but he has a lot more zip on his arm compared to 2011.

Meanwhile, in actual contact work, first-string OL is holding it's own vs. first-team DL.

The more I watch John Jerry work the more I'm convinced he'll be moved to tackle. He doesn't move like the guards AT ALL.

Jonathan Martin and Randy Starks had the first shoving match. Starks threw the first punch.

— Ben Volin (@BenVolinPBP) July 29, 2012
..... and on the next pass, Tannehill misses a wide open Les Brown

Legedu Naanee caught a touchdown pass on Vontae Davis. Good deep ball by Matt Moore.

I have a hard time thinking Jeff Fuller doesn't make the 53.
— Omar Kelly (@OmarKelly) July 29, 2012
Jeff Fuller dropped an easy pass to Ryan Tannehill. He had a very hot and cold practice. That's rookies.
— Omar Kelly (@OmarKelly) July 29, 2012
Austin Spitler picked off a Ryan Tannehill and would have run it down for TD.
— Omar Kelly (@OmarKelly) July 29, 2012
Practice over. Tannehill threw with great anticipation today against the 2's. Moore and Garrard were up and down
— Ben Volin (@BenVolinPBP) July 29, 2012
I find it interesting that defensive players, including coordinator Kevin Coyle, are running wind sprints.
