Miami Dolphins 2012 Breakout Player of the Year should be Charles Clay, according to the Phinsider Community.

Two days ago, the members of the Phinsider Community began voting, and debating, for whomever they felt could have the breakout season of 2012 for the Miami Dolphins. The list of nominees was developed by the members, with seventeen possible players making it into consideration. In the end, one player pulled ahead in the poll, receiving 27% of the votes.

All seventeen nominees received at least one vote, but Dolphins H-back Charles Clay was the overall winner. As kermit the frogger29 wrote in his nomination of Clay, "I think he will flourish in Philbins/Sherman 2TE base offense. He has good size, speed, and hands to be a real threat in the middle, plus he has the break away speed to out run most of the LBs in the seam. Plus several writers have mentioned that the QBs are making an effort to get him the ball A LOT."

The full breakdown of the results is below:

  1. Charles Clay - 27% (150 votes)
  2. Jared Odrick - 17% (96)
  3. Davone Bess - 11% (63)
  4. Reshad Jones - 7% (43)
  5. Jimmy Wilson - 6% (33)
  6. Cameron Wake - 5% (28)
  7. Sean Smith - 4% (26)
