Miami Dolphins Most Overrated and Underrated Player

Is Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Jake Long the team's most overrated player?

Every NFL team has that player who gets all the hype, but doesn't perform to a level to warrant it, as well as the player who goes out there week after week and gets the job done, with little fanfare. CBS Sports has taken a look at all 32 NFL franchises and found the players on each team that most fit those two categories heading into the 2012 season.

For the Miami Dolphins the most overrated player won't be a popular pick, but after an injury filled 2011, including missing two games, maybe he makes the most sense. For the Dolphins, CBS Sports selected left tackle Jake Long as the most overrated player. About the selection, they wrote:

"He is good but had some troubles last season. Injuries forced him to miss time, and on the field he wasn't as dominant."

Actually seems fair enough, given Long was named to his fourth straight Pro Bowl, despite the missed time and being on injured reserve.

As for the underrated player, CBS Sports picked defensive lineman Randy Starks. Justifying the pick, they wrote:

"He had another impressive season, even if few noticed. He's a good player against the run and also had 4 1/2 sacks."

Again, it's hard to argue with the logic.

But, that doesn't mean either selection is the right one. Who do you think, based on last season's performance, are the Dolphins' most overrated and underrated players? Let us know in the comments below.
