Since he was released by the New England Patriots last week, speculation has swirled around the Miami Dolphins and their interest in wide receiver Chad Ochocinco. Last week, word leaked that the two sides had scheduled a workout for the six-time Pro Bowler. Today, Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin admitted that the workout has already taken place.
Coach Philbin confirmed that there was a "recent" workout with free agent Chad Ochocinco.

Reports have also come out, including a report from Jason La Confora, that Ochocinco actually prefers to sign with the Dolphins. The former Chad Johnson is a Miami native, having attended Miami Beach High School, and would like to return home to play for the Dolphins.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins, who are holding their final media-available OTA today, could be in need of a veteran wide receiver, having traded former top wide out Brandon Marshall this offseason. Brian Hartline, the favorite to replace Marshall on the depth chart, has been limited in OTA workouts this offseason due to an unspecified injury.
