The Miami Dolphins today signed fourth round draft pick, running back Lamar Miller. Miller played college football in the same stadium as the Dolphins, playing for the University of Miami Hurricanes. The Dolphins traded up in the fourth round to select Miller, someone the team believed was a first round talent.
Miami will look to use Miller as a reserve to starter Reggie Bush and second year running back Daniel Thomas this year. Miller's combination of size, strength, and speed can cause match up problems all over the field, and the team will line him up in the backfield and spread out as a wide receiver to take advantage of those attributes.
With Miller's signing, the Dolphins have three of their nine draft picks still unsigned: first round pick, quarterback Ryan Tannehill, and third rounders, defensive end Olivier Vernon and tight end Michael Egnew. Vernon went to the University of Miami with Miller.
