The Miami Dolphins have signed the second of their seventh round draft picks today, bringing wide receiver Rishard Matthews into the fold of signed rookies. This puts the Dolphins one-third of the way through signing their nine selections from last month's NFL Draft.
Matthews comes to the Dolphins from Nevada-Reno, where the 6-foot, 221 lbs. receiver 24 of 26 games played, totalling 147 receptions for 2,243 yards and 13 touchdowns. He had 91 catches for 1,364 yards and 8 touchdowns during his senior year in 2011.
Matthews joins fellow wide receiver B.J. Cunningham (6th round pick) and defensive tackle Kheeston Randall (7th round) as signed picks by the Dolphins. The team still has six rookies to sign, including first round pick, quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
