According to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero, the Miami Dolphins have signed seventh round draft choice Kheeston Randall. Randall, the team's first of two picks in the Draft's final round, comes to the Dolphins from the University of Texas, where he played nose tackle in a 3-4 defensive front.
Randall was limited to running situations with the Longhorns, where he was able to take on, and shed, blockers, shutting down running backs. However, he never showed any ability to play in passing situations, being taken out of the game for the majority of them, and failing to provide any pressure when he was in on a passing play.
The signing of Randall gives the Dolphins their second 2012 draft pick under contract, joining sixth round pick B.J. Cunningham. Miami has seven players reaming to be signed.
