Earlier this week, we took a look at the teams most likely to miss the 2012 NFL Playoffs despite making it in 2011. With a 50% turn-over rate in the NFL's playoffs every year, there will typically be three teams from each conference that join the playoffs, having not been there the year before. Today, we start trying to predict which teams will make it into the postseason tournament in the AFC.
In the AFC, the following teams made it into the playoffs last year:
- New England Patriots
- Baltimore Ravens
- Houston Texans
- Denver Broncos
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Cincinnati Bengals
After the voting was complete, the Phinsider Community decided that the Bengals, Broncos, and Steelers would not be making the postseason in 2012. Now, we get to look at which three teams will take their places.
With those three teams not making the playoffs, and the Patriots, Ravens, and Texans remaining in their slots from last year, that leaves 10 teams to vie for the three slots:
- Tennessee Titans
- New York Jets
- San Diego Chargers
- Oakland Raiders
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Miami Dolphins
- Buffalo Bills
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Cleveland Browns
- Indianapolis Colts
Now, we have to determine which of those teams is most likely to fill the playoff vacancies in 2012. In order to do that, all you have to do is vote. Pick the team you think is most likely to make the playoffs. Once the voting is complete, I will tally it up and see which three teams have the most votes, while making sure we don't end up violating the actual possibilities of teams making the postseason (i.e., no AFC West team being in the top 3, since someone has to be the division winner).
Vote below, and be looking for the NFC post tomorrow.
