Miami Dolphins Sign Tackle Andrew McDonald

The Miami Dolphins announced today the signing of offensive tackle Andrew McDonald. McDonald signs as an undrafted free agent out of the Univesity of Indiana.

The 6' 5", 315 lbs. lineman participated in the Dolphins rookie minicamp earlier this month as a non-contract try-out player. Apparently, he did enough to impress the team.

"Andrew's hard work paid off in the workout setting during our recent rookie orientation," Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland said of the signing. "As a player invited to tryout, he approached the minicamp with the right frame of mind. Andrew's work ethic was evident throughout all of the practices."

McDonald Started all twelve games for Indiana last year at left tackle. He helped the team amass 1,374 rushing yards last year, the team's highest total since 2001, including five 200-yard rushing games.

McDonald knows that his work isn't done yet, however.

"I still have to earn a spot, pretty much," McDonald said. "We've still got to do practice. I might get cut and get put on the practice squad, something like that. Nothing is really guaranteed."
