Don't forget, the NFL will release the 2012 schedule tonight at 7pm EDT. Expect the release to be a slow process, as this is an NFL Network and ESPN SportsCenter special presentation. You can also follow the release at NFL.com.
The NFL already announced that the 2012 Kick Off Game will be played on Wednesday, September 5. The game is traditionally hosted by the reigning Super Bowl champion, including this year when the New York Giants welcoming the Dallas Cowboys to MetLife Stadium. The game, which is normally held on a Thursday night, was moved to Wednesday to not conflict with President Barrack Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention. This will be the first Wednesday game for the NFL since 1948.
As the NFL prepares to release the schedule slate, the Miami Dolphins' 2012 opponents are already known. The team will host the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams, and Seattle Seahawks. The Dolphins will travel to play the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco 49ers. And, of course, there is the home-and-home series with the AFC East division rivals Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, and New York Jets.
The real questions will be, in what order do the Dolphins play their schedule? Are any of the games primetime? And, which cold weather games with the team have?
Make sure you come back here for the live thread as the schedule is released, and to discuss it once it has been published.
