We've all seen the commercial, the one where the Super MVP, this year Eli Manning, declares that he is heading to Disney World. Then we all get to see scenes of the MVP hanging out with Mickey Mouse during a parade. It happens every year, and it's actually a highlight for the MVP.
But, this year, there's a twist. Not for Manning, for bot the New England Patriots. When the New York Giants won Super Bowl XLVI, they got to raise the Lombardi Trophy and get a parade through New York City. But, apparently, the Patriots are getting some things more.
The entire team is being invited to go to Aruba. The Aruba Tourism Authority has decided to send out the invitations for every member of the Super Bowl runners-up. According to a press released, first noticed by USA Today, the ATA writes:
"While only the MVP of the winning club has the opportunity to jet off to another well-known destination, Aruba is making the offer to the entire New England squad.
"We want to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work, dedication and season-long success of the team, despite their loss. We believe there is no better place to recover after a loss than Aruba. After all, we are known as 'One Happy Island.'"
While it's not a guarantee that any of the Patriots will take Aruba up on the offer, it's not a bad plan by the country. And, it wouldn't be a bad way for the Patriots to get away from everything and relax after the season. Well, as long as Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen don't fly out to the island with any of the Patriots receivers.
