The Miami Dolphins put the first points on the scoreboard in today's game against the San Francisco 49ers. The 28-yard field goal came early in the second quarter, with Dan Carpenter capping an 8:13 drive, Miami's longest sustained drive of the season.
The Miami defense has already forced two punts by the 49ers, with Cameron Wake recording two sacks. Rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill has looked good early in the game, going 7-for-10 for 88 yards.
Dan Carpenter hit from 28 yards to end the 13 play drive for the Dolphins, covering 52 yards. The Dolphins will now look to continue their defensive success against the 49ers, holding them to just 47 yards in the first period.
Miami has already been penalized twice, on back-to-back plays, for false starts, once on rookie tackle Jonathan Martin, and once on tackle Nate Garner.
